Laser technology has always been a high technology that China’s government has focused on. From the National Science and Technology Development Plan of 1963 and the later “6th Five-Year Plan” to the “10th Five-Year Plan” to the National Outline for the National Medium- and Long-Term Scientific and Technological Development Plan (2006-2020), the lasers were clearly defined. As a key development of high technology; during the national "Eleventh Five-Year Plan" period, government departments have designated laser as the technology that supports development.
For more than 40 years, after several generations of unremitting efforts, China's laser marking machine technology research has achieved significant development and has achieved many scientific research achievements with international advanced level. The successful application of China's laser marking machine technology in various fields of the national economy has led to the rapid development of the laser product market. The Chinese laser industry has formed a scale. At present, there are more than 60,000 people engaged in laser research, development, production, and application in the entire industry, including about 50% of scientific and technical personnel, about 14% of management personnel, and about 30% of staff with middle and senior professional titles. Support a considerable strength of the industrial team. China has distributed more than 100 laser processing workstations for enterprise services in dozens of cities. Over 150 laser equipment manufacturers have emerged and several listed companies led by laser products have emerged. With the full support of governments at all levels, the four major laser industry clusters in Central China, Bohai Bay, the Yangtze River Delta, and the Pearl River Delta have basically taken shape. There are already 16 manufacturers with annual sales exceeding RMB 100 million yuan, which is an in-depth application of laser technology. And to expand the scale of industrialization to lay a solid foundation, China's laser industry is in an excellent period of development.
